Comprehensive and quantitative profiling of B vitamins and related compounds in the mammalian liver [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
A method for the simultaneous quantification of B vitamins and related amines in one-carbon (1C) metabolism would benefit the study of diet and genetic/epigenetic regulation of mammalian development and health.

Reaction of pyridoxal-5′-phosphate with γ-carboxyglutamic acid [PDF]

open access: yesExperientia, 1980
Pyridoxal-5′-phosphate (PLP) reacts with γ-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) to form a stable complex absorbing at 325 nm. It is suggested that a condensation occurs in which the formyl group of PLP reacts with the α-amino group and the γ carbon atom of Gla to give a pyrrolidine derivative.

Urinary excretion of B-group vitamins reflects the nutritional status of B-group vitamins in rats

open access: yesJournal of Nutritional Science, 2013
We have reported previously that the urinary excretion of B-group vitamins reflects recent dietary intakes of these vitamins. We also proposed reference values for the urinary levels of B-group vitamins for human subjects, and used these for evaluating ...

Do glucocorticoids affect vitamin B6 metabolism in cells in which the steroid induces B6 dependent enzymes? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Two observations in the literature have led us to believe that glucocorticoids may affect the metabolism of the vitamers of pyridoxal-5-phosphate (PLP).

Genotype, Ethnicity, and Drug–Drug Interaction Modeling as Means of Verifying Transporter Biomarker PBPK Model: The Coproporphyrin‐I Story

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 5, Page 941-953, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Coproporphyrin‐I (CP‐I) is a selective endogenous biomarker of organic anion‐transporting polypeptide (OATP)1B. Multiple CP‐I PBPK models with differing input parameters have been reported so far. This study proposed a harmonized CP‐I PBPK model and evaluated its ability to predict the effect of ethnicity, SLCO1B1 genotype c.521T>C, and sex on

Chemistry of vitamin B6, molecular cloning of its related enzymes and reversible unfolding studies of myo-inositol monophosphatase with Hsc 70 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The main aims of this work are three-fold; first, to study chemical modification of proteins with vitamin B6 analogues, pyridoxamine or pyridoxamine-5\u27-phosphate and pyridoxic acid.

A comparison of complementary measures of vitamin B6 status, function, and metabolism in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Background: Vitamin B6 insufficiency has been linked to increased risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. The circulating concentration of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP) is a commonly used measure of vitamin B6 status.

Geometric-algebraic approach to aqueous solutions of diprotic acids and its buffer mixtures [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
A closed-form analytical expression for $\ce{[H3O+]}$ has been obtained for aqueous solutions of diprotic acids and its soluble salts. This formula allows to calculate the pH of aqueous solutions of diprotic acids, their buffer solutions, and the titrations of these two by a strong base, from the values of p$K_1$, p$K_2$, and the effective ...

Systemic Activation of the Kynurenine Pathway in Graves Disease With and Without Ophthalmopathy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Context Graves disease (GD) is one of the most common autoimmune disorders. Recent literature has shown an immune response involving several different inflammatory related proteins in these patients.
