Pyridoxal 5′-phosphate and related metabolites in hypophosphatasia: Effects of enzyme replacement therapy [PDF]
Objective To investigate the utility of serum pyridoxal 5′-phosphate (PLP), pyridoxal (PL), and 4-pyridoxic acid (PA) as a diagnostic marker of hypophosphatasia (HPP) and an indicator of the effect of, and patient compliance with, enzyme replacement ...

An alternatively minimizing covariant matrix error (AMCME) algorithm, newly proposed by the present authors, was applied to the simultaneous fluorometric determination of pyridoxal, pyridoxamine and 4-pyridoxic acid without loss of sensitivity. The experimental results illustrate that the profiles of spectra and concentration can be accurately resolved

Nature's Starships. I. Observed Abundances and Relative Frequencies of Amino Acids in Meteorites [PDF]
The class of meteorites called carbonaceous chondrites are examples of material from the solar system which have been relatively unchanged from the time of their initial formation. These meteorites have been classified according to the temperatures and physical conditions of their parent planetesimals.

A significant improvement in hormonal and oxidative stress biomarkers was observed in rats treated with Amaranthus spinosus, especially at high doses, after induction of ovarian hyperthecosis. Amaranthus spinosus could be a management approach for ovarian hyperthecosis via regulating circRNA (hsa‐circ‐0001577), disturbed hormonal balance, and ...

Meteoritic Abundances of Fatty Acids and Potential Reaction Pathways in Planetesimals [PDF]
The origin of fatty acids on the prebiotic Earth is important as they likely formed the encapsulating membranes of the first protocells. Carbon-rich meteorites (i.e., carbonaceous chondrites) such as Murchison and Tagish Lake are well known to contain these molecules, and their delivery to the early planet by intense early meteorite bombardments ...
