Staphylococcus aureus encodes four differentially regulated pyruvate transporters
The success of Staphylococcus aureus as a pathogen is attributable, in part, to its ability to exploit the diverse nutrient sources available during infection.

Under NIR irradiation, PTCPP generates ROS to eliminate MRSA biofilms and promote M1 macrophage polarization for phagocytosis. After bacterial clearance, the material is phagocytosed by macrophages, shifting their polarization to M2 phenotype via metabolic reprogramming, which synergistically enhances anti‐infection therapy and wound healing.

Pyruvate metabolism is involved in adaptability and cariogenicity of Streptococcus mutans
Dental caries is a biofilm-mediated disease that arises from polymicrobial dysbiosis in dental plaque. Among these microorganisms, Streptococcus mutans plays a prominent role because of its strong capacity to metabolize fermentable carbohydrates into ...

Magnetic particles are organized into layered architectures by combining shear flow and magnetic fields, with the resulting structures governed by appropriate Mason numbers. The programmed assemblies provide spatial guidance for cell placement, linking field‐controlled self‐assembly, flow‐induced structuring and biological organization.

MECHANISM OF FORMATION OF OXALOACETATE AND PHOSPHOENOL PYRUVATE FROM PYRUVATE
The pathways by which pyruvate, oxaloa cetate and P-enolpyruvate are interlinked have been reviewed. The enzymes involved (see Table 1) and pathways differ markedly in different cells. Animals and yeast possessing pyruvate carboxylase are able to convert pyruvate to oxaloacetate directly by CO2 fixation, but the propionic acid bacteria and E.

This study reveals that metformin promotes glucuronic acid metabolism in lung adenocarcinoma by activating UGDH S476 phosphorylation and enhancing the conversion of UDPG to UDPGA based on metabolomics analysis. Through compound virtual screening, it is found that plantainoside targeting UGDH downstream UXS1 leads to UDPGA toxicity accumulation ...

Pyruvate Regulates the Expression of DLAT to Promote Follicular Growth
Increasing evidence has suggested that dihydrolipoamide S-acetyltransferase (DLAT), a subunit of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, is crucial for pyruvate metabolism and the regulation of cell death. The excessive death of granulosa cells (GCs) hinders
