Reciprocal Regulation of Protein Kinase and Pyruvate Kinase Activities of Pyruvate Kinase M2 by Growth Signals [PDF]
Pyruvate kinase isoform M2 (PKM2) is an enzyme-catalyzing conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate to pyruvate in the glycolysis pathway. It was demonstrated that PKM2 interacts with tyrosine phosphopeptide, and the interaction with the tyrosine phosphopeptide affects the pyruvate kinase activity of PKM2.

AKT1 Phosphorylates FDX1 to Promote Cuproptosis Resistance in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer
This study demonstrates that copper activates the AKT signaling pathway, which inhibits ferredoxin‐1 (FDX1), a key regulator of cuproptosis. AKT1‐mediated FDX1 phosphorylation not only abrogates FDX1‐induced cuproptosis and aerobic respiration but also promotes glycolysis.

Molecular and cellular paradigms of multidrug resistance in cancer
Abstract Background The acquisition of resistance to chemotherapy is a major hurdle in the successful application of cancer therapy. Several anticancer approaches, including chemotherapies, radiotherapy, surgery and targeted therapies are being employed for the treatment of cancer.

DNA Origami‐Cyanine Nanocomplex for Precision Imaging of KRAS‐Mutant Pancreatic Cancer Cells
DNA origami‐cyanine (Do‐Cy) nanocomplexes are synthesized to selectively image KRAS‐mutant pancreatic cancer cells in the highly desmoplastic tumors. This study shows that the Do‐Cy nanocomplexes are preferentially internalized by cancer cells over other stroma cells via KRAS‐dependent macropinocytosis.

Pyruvate kinase deficiency (PKD) is a rare erythroid metabolic disease caused by mutations in the PKLR gene. Erythrocytes from PKD patients show an energetic imbalance causing chronic non-spherocytic hemolytic anemia, as pyruvate kinase defects impair ...

αPD‐1 therapy has left an indelible mark in the field of NSCLC treatment; however, its efficacy is limited in clinical practice owing to the effector T‐cell exhaustion. These findings underscore CK2B as a promising target for overcoming the exhaustion of effector CD8+ T cells, thereby enhancing the efficacy of αPD‐1 and adoptive cell therapies in NSCLC.

A Model of the Roles of Essential Kinases in the Induction and Expression of Late Long-Term Potentiation [PDF]
The induction of late long-term potentiation (L-LTP) involves complex interactions among second messenger cascades. To gain insights into these interactions, a mathematical model was developed for L-LTP induction in the CA1 region of the hippocampus. The differential equation-based model represents actions of protein kinase A (PKA), MAP kinase (MAPK ...

Tirzepatide, a dual GIP/GLP‐1 receptor agonist for diabetes, suppresses colorectal cancer growth by targeting glucose metabolism. It inhibits cancer cell proliferation, promotes apoptosis, and induces tumor regression. It reduces glucose uptake and destabilizes HIF‐1α for degradation to downregulate PFKFB3/PFK‐1 enzymes, thus contributing to the ...
