Application of Deep Learning in the Phase Processing of Digital Holographic Microscopy

open access: yesPhotonics
Digital holographic microscopy (DHM) provides numerous advantages, such as noninvasive sample analysis, real-time dynamic detection, and three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction, making it a valuable tool in fields such as biomedical research, cell ...

Quantitative Phase Imaging for Label-Free Analysis of Cancer Cells—Focus on Digital Holographic Microscopy

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
To understand complex biological processes, scientists must gain insight into the function of individual living cells. In contrast to the imaging of fixed cells, where a single snapshot of the cell’s life is retrieved, live-cell imaging allows ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Quantitative Analysis of Balancing Range for Single-Phase 3L-NPC Converters

open access: yesEnergies
Multiple techniques have been suggested to achieve control balance in single-phase three-level neutral-point clamped (3L-NPC) converters. Nevertheless, there is a deficiency of quantitative calculations related to the extent of balancing.

Rapid quantitative apolipoprotein analysis by gradient ultracentrifugation and reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
A new methodology for the analysis of lipoprotein composition using a combination of gradient ultracentrifugation and high performance liquid chromatography was used to determine the differences in lipoprotein composition between non-hyperlipidemic men ...

Quantitative Analysis of Vortical Blood Flow in the Thoracic Aorta Using 4D Phase Contrast MRI. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Phase contrast MRI allows for the examination of complex hemodynamics in the heart and adjacent great vessels. Vortex flow patterns seem to play an important role in certain vascular pathologies.

The use of mo and cu monochromatic radiations for quantitative phase analysis: study of the accuracy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Cement hydration is a very complex process in which crystalline phases are dissolving in water and after supersaturation hydrated crystalline and amorphous phases precipitate.

Uncertainty relations in models of market microstructure

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents a new interacting particle system and uses it as a spin model for financial market microstructure. The asymptotic analysis of this stochastic process exhibits a lower bound to the contemporaneous measurement of price and trading ...

Field induced phase transitions in the helimagnet Ba2CuGe2O7 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present a theoretical study of the two-dimensional spiral antiferromagnet Ba2CuGe2O7 in the presence of an external magnetic field. We employ a suitable nonlinear sigma model to calculate the T=0 phase diagram and the associated low-energy spin ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
