Accelerated autocondensation of quebracho tannin wood adhesive by boric acid

open access: yes, 2015
Quebracho tannin wood adhesive in non formaldehyde approach has low autocondensation rate and needs more press time than formaldehyde-based wood adhesives to produce wood composites. In this study, boric acid was used to increase autocondensation rate of quebracho tannin adhesive to make poplar plywood.

Effect of Moderate Level (2.5%) of Tannic Acid and Tannivin (Quebracho Tannins) on the Time Course of Rumen Fermentation of Total Mixed Ration In Vitro

open access: yesRuminants
Tannins are known for their ability to modify digestion and reduce CH4 emissions in ruminants. Novel forages able to tolerate water deficits often contain low-to-moderate levels of dietary tannins. The aim of the study was to compare the effect of tannic

Effects of Quebracho Tannin on Recovery of Colloidal Gold from Bioleached Wash Liquor

open access: yesGhana Mining Journal, 2015
Gold occurs in some concessions as submicron particles in pyrite and arsenopyrite, which is processed in a flotation concentration to obtain gold enriched sulphide concentrate. The concentrate is then treated in a biological oxidation step to oxidize the sulphides, liberate the occluded gold and make them amenable for cyanidation. The oxidized sulphide

Polyethylene glycol influences selection of foraging location by sheep consuming quebracho tannin.

open access: yesJournal of animal science, 2002
Tannins are a heterogeneous group of phenolic polymers that can induce detrimental effects when consumed by herbivores. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) binds to tannins and thus attenuates their negative effects. Our objective was to determine whether sheep actively seek PEG when fed tannins and thus modify their foraging location as a function of the ...

Effects of pre-incubation in sheep and goat saliva on in vitro rumen digestion of tanniferous browse foliage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A two-stage in vitro procedure was used for assessing the activity of parotid saliva to enhance rumen digestion of tanniniferous browse foliage. The procedure consisted of pre-incubation in saliva for 4 h at 39 °C followed by incubation in diluted ...
