Carbon-13 n.m.r. investigation on the nitrogen methylation of the mono- and diazanaphthalenes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
The 13C n.m.r. spectra of the N-methylated mono- and diazanaphthalenes have been recorded and analysed. It has been shown that N-methylation as well as N-protonation in cinnoline occur predominantly at the -nitrogen atom.

Effect of Unique NNS Ligand in Manganese‐Catalyzed Transfer Hydrogenation Reaction—A DFT Mechanistic Study

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
The mechanism of transfer hydrogenation between isopropanol and acetophenone based on NN‐Mn(CO)3 and NNS‐Mn(CO)2 complexes has been computed. Both complexes have similar activity under mild conditions. Isopropanol dehydrogenation represents the rate‐determining step. Transfer hydrogenation has a much lower barrier than hydrogenation using molecular H2.

Polycyclic N-Hetero Compounds. XL. Reaction of Cyclic Ketones with Trisformylaminomethane [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Reactions of cyclic ketones such as α-tetralone, 1,3-cyclohexanedione, or naphthalenedione with formamide or trisformylaminomethane (TFAM) have shown to form polyclic fused pyrimidines by us.

Decoding Urease Inhibition: A Comprehensive Review of Inhibitor Scaffolds

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 2, January 2026.
Representative functional groups known for urease inhibition are reviewed within diverse scaffolds using structure–activity analyses to identify features associated with high inhibitory activity. Urease is a metalloenzyme produced by a wide range of organisms and plays a critical role in nitrogen microbial metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of ...

Synthesis of Heterocyclic Skeletons by the Reaction of N1-(2-Cyanophenyl)-benzimidoyl Chloride with Thioamides

open access: yesMolecules, 2002
The reaction of N-(2-cyanophenyl)benzimidoyl chloride with reagents containing a thioamide moiety, i.e. thioacetamide, benzylthiourea, symmetrical dialkyl- and diarylthioureas gave different cyclic products: 3,1-benzothiazine, 1,3,5-benzotriazocine and ...

Exploration and Characterization of the Antimalarial Activity of Pyrimidine‐2,4‐Diamines for which Resistance is Mediated by the ABCI3 Transporter

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 1, January 2026.
Investigation of the structure‐activity relationship on W482 (1) with a pyrimidine‐2,4‐diamine scaffold culminated in analog 51 with enhanced anti‐plasmodial activity. Forward genetics and phenotypic examination revealed the ABCI3 transporter protein as a putative resistance mechanism.

Increase of enzyme activity through specific covalent modification with fragments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Modulation of enzyme activity is a powerful means of probing cellular function and can be exploited for diverse applications. Here, we explore a method of enzyme activation where covalent tethering of a small molecule to an enzyme can increase catalytic ...

Natural Products Targeting the EGFR/HER2 Axis in Tumorigenesis: Interpretation of Molecular Mechanisms and Recent Insights Into Synergistic Strategies for Cancer Therapy

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Schematic overview illustrating the anticancer mechanisms of selected natural products (resveratrol, quercetin, berberine) targeting EGFR and HER2 signaling pathways in tumor cells. These compounds inhibit receptor activation and downstream oncogenic cascades, including PI3K/Akt/mTOR, MAPK/ERK, and STAT3 pathways.
