On the Nitration of Quinoxalines (Addendum)
2-Hydroxyquinoxaline was nitrated with potassium nitrate in conc. sulfuric acid and formed 2-hydroxy-6-nitroquinoxaline, m.p. 306°, in 77% yield. This was treated with dimethyl sulfate and 1-methyl-2-oxo-6-nitro-1, 2-dihydroquinoxaline, m.p. 213°, was obtained, which was also prepared by the condensation of 1-methylamino-2-amino-4-nitrobenzene with ...

Quinoxaline-2-carbonitrile [PDF]
In the title compound, C9H5N3, the quinoxaline ring is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.012 (1) Å. Short intermolecular distances between the centroids of the 2,3-dihydropyrazine and benzene rings [3.6490 (5) Å] indicate the existence of π⋯π interactions.

Neutron scattering from a coordination polymer quantum paramagnet [PDF]
Inelastic neutron scattering measurements are reported for a powder sample of the spin-1/2 quantum paramagnet $\rm Cu(Quinoxaline)Br_2$. Magnetic neutron scattering is identified above an energy gap of 1.9 meV.

Alkoxyallene‐Based LANCA Three‐Component Synthesis of 1,2‐Diketones, Quinoxalines, and Unique Isoindenone Dimers and a Computational Study of the Isoindenone Dimerization [PDF]
A series of β‐alkoxy‐β‐ketoenamides was prepared by the well‐established LANCA three‐component reaction of lithiated 1‐(2‐trimethylsilylethoxy)‐substituted allenes, nitriles, and α,β‐unsaturated carboxylic acids.

Biotransformation of quinoxaline by Streptomyces badius [PDF]
Quinoxaline, a mutagenic azaarene produced in foods during cooking, was added to cultures of Streptomyces badius ATCC 39117. After 24 h, the cultures were extracted with ethyl acetate. Two major metabolites were purified by liquid chromatography and identified by mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy as 3,4-dihydro-2(1H ...

Synthesis, Characterization and Protonation Behavior of Quinoxaline-Fused Porphycenes
9,10-Quinoxaline-fused porphycenes 1a-H2 and 1b-H2 were synthesized by intramolecular McMurry coupling. As a result of the annulation of the quinoxaline moiety on the porphycene skeleton, 1a-H2 and 1b-H2 display absorption and fluorescence in the near ...

7,8-Dimethyl-11H-indeno[1,2-b]quinoxalin-11-one
In the title compound, C17H12N2O, the mean planes of the indene ring and quinoxaline system (r.m.s. deviations = 0.0131 and 0.0082 Å) are approximately parallel to one another, making a dihedral angle of 1.2 (5)°.
