Expressions of Rac1, Tiam1 and Cdc42 in retinoblastoma

Experimental Eye Research, 2006
The Rho GTPases are the molecular regulators of the cell motility processes and are involved in cell cycle progression and gene transcription. We studied the expression of Rho-like GTPases molecules, particularly Rac, Tiam1 and cdc42, in retinoblastoma and correlated these with clinicopathological parameters of the tumors.

The role of Rac1 and Rac2 in bacterial killing

Cellular Immunology, 2005
The small Rho guanosine triphosphatases (GTPases) Rac1 and Rac2 have distinct roles in regulating neutrophil chemotaxis; however, little is known about their possible unique roles in mediating bacterial killing. To elucidate the relative roles of Rac1 and Rac2 in regulating neutrophil-mediated bacterial killing, we utilized the previously described ...

Membrane recruitment of Rac1 triggers phagocytosis

Journal of Cell Science, 2000
ABSTRACT Rac1 is a Rho-family GTP-binding protein that controls lamellipodia formation and membrane ruffling in fibroblasts. Recently, Rac1 and Cdc42, another member of the Rho-family, have been shown to regulate Fc receptor-mediated phagocytosis in macrophages by controlling different steps of membrane and actin dynamics leading to ...
