Nuclear medicine and imaging research (quantitative studies in radiopharmaceutical science). Progress report, January 1, 1992--December 31, 1992 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
This report describes three studies aimed at using radiolabeled pharmaceuticals to explore brain function and anatomy. The first section describes the chemical preparation of [F18]fluorinated benzamides (dopamine D-2 receptor tracers), [F18]fluorinated benzazepines (dopamine D-1 receptor tracers), and tissue distribution of [F18]-fluoxetine (serotonin ...

Terbium-149 production: a focus on yield and quality improvement towards preclinical application

open access: yesScientific Reports
Terbium-149 (T1/2 = 4.1 h, Eα = 3.98 MeV (16.7%), 28 µm range in tissue) is a radionuclide with potential for targeted alpha therapy. Due to the negligible emission of α-emitting daughter nuclides, toxicity to healthy tissue may be reduced in comparison ...

Precise activity measurements of medical radionuclides using an ionization chamber: a case study with Terbium-161

open access: yesEJNMMI Physics, 2022
Background 161Tb draws an increasing interest in nuclear medicine for therapeutic applications. More than 99% of the emitted gamma and X-rays of 161Tb have an energy below 100 keV.

High Yield Branched Puromycin Linker Design Enables Efficient cDNA Display and Chemical Modification of Peptides

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
A novel puromycin linker for cDNA display was synthesized via SPAAC reaction. Its functionality was confirmed by recovering intact DNA after selection against EpCAM. The system also enabled the verification of bicyclic peptides during display, demonstrating its utility for constructing and screening structurally complex peptide libraries.

66Ga: A Novelty or a Valuable Preclinical Screening Tool for the Design of Targeted Radiopharmaceuticals?

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Emerging interest in extending the plasma half-life of small molecule radioligands warrants a consideration of the appropriate radionuclide for PET imaging at longer time points (>8 h). Among candidate positron-emitting radionuclides, 66Ga (t1/2 = 9.5
