Development of Carborane‐Based Halogenated Naphthyridinone‐Analogues as Cannabinoid Receptor Type 2 (CB2R) Ligands

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 20, Issue 17, September 11, 2025.
There is no suitable radioligand for positron emission tomography imaging of CB2R overexpression for routine clinical usage. Herein, the synthesis, characterization, binding affinity, and docking studies of carborane‐based halo‐substituted naphthyridinone derivatives as CB2R ligands are presented.

A pathway toward clinical translation of hyperpolarized [1,4‐13C2,2,3‐d2]fumarate as an imaging biomarker for early cellular necrosis in vivo

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 3, Page 1202-1217, September 2025.
Abstract Purpose The detection of hyperpolarized carbon‐13 (HP 13C)‐fumarate conversion to 13C‐malate using 13C‐MRSI is a biomarker for early detection of cellular necrosis. Here, we describe the translation of HP 13C‐fumarate as a novel human imaging agent, including the evaluation of biocompatibility and scaling up of the hyperpolarization methods ...

Ga(III) chelates of amphiphilic DOTA-based ligands : synthetic route and in vitro and in vivo studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work we report a synthetic strategy of amphiphilic DOTA-based chelators bearing a variable size α-alkyl chain at one of the pendant acetate arms (from six to fourteen carbon atoms), compatible with their covalent coupling to amine-bearing ...

Imidazolium‐Based Lipid Analogs as Lipofection Reagents

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 358, Issue 8, August 2025.
Imidazolium‐based lipid analogs were synthesized and assessed for liposome‐mediated gene transfer. Cytotoxicity varied with alkyl chain saturation; di‐unsaturated analogs achieved effective transfection despite higher toxicity. These insights into the effects of lipid structure aid in designing efficient and safer nonviral delivery systems.

Development and characterisation of improved unifocal primary mouse lung cancer models with metastatic potential

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, Volume 266, Issue 4-5, Page 405-420, August 2025.
Abstract Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer‐related death globally. To better understand the biology of lung cancer, mouse models have been developed using either tail vein‐injected tumour cell lines or genetically modified mice. The current gold‐standard models typically present with multiple lung foci.

The evolving role of positron emission tomography in precision prostate cancer biopsy

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 55, Issue 8, August 2025.
Prostate biopsy plays a pivotal role in the detection and characterization of prostate cancer. PSMA PET‐targeted biopsy represents a significant advancement in prostate cancer diagnostics, offering higher sensitivity, specificity and accuracy in detecting clinically significant lesions compared to traditional methods. PSMA PET, when combined with mpMRI,
