Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Nonstoichiometry in TiO2−y Studied by Ion Beam Methods and Photoelectron Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2012
This paper treats a problem of nonstoichiometry in TiO2−y thin films deposited by reactive sputtering at controlled sputtering rates. Ion beam techniques, Rutherford backscattering (RBS), and nuclear reaction analysis (NRA) along with X-ray photoelectron

Characterization of polycrystalline nickel cobaltite nanostructures prepared by DC plasma magnetron co-sputtering for gas sensing applications

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2017
In this work, a gas sensor is fabricated from polycrystalline nickel cobaltite nano films deposited on transparent substrates by closed-field unbalanced dual-magnetrons (CFUBDM) co-sputtering technique. Two targets of nickel and cobalt are mounted on the

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Reactive species in RF plasma sputtering deposition of nanocrystalline calcium phosphate bio-active films

open access: yes, 2003
Optical emission of reactive plasma species during the synthesis of functionally graded calcium phosphate-based bioactive films has been investigated. The coatings have been deposited on Ti-6Al-4V orthopedic alloy by co-sputtering of hydroxyapatite (HA ...

Tutorial: Reactive high power impulse magnetron sputtering (R-HiPIMS) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering (HiPIMS) is a coating technology that combines magnetron sputtering with pulsed power concepts. By applying power in pulses of high amplitude and a relatively low duty cycle, large fractions of sputtered atoms and ...

High Temperature Oxidized SnO2 Films Prepared by Reactive Sputtering

open access: yesActive and Passive Electronic Components, 1987
Undoped and Sb-doped tin oxide films were prepared by d.c. reactive ion sputtering in an argon atmosphere with oxygen partial pressures ranging from 0 to 50%. The films were anneled in oxygen in the temperature range 360 - 893℃.

Development of a flux-film-coated sputtering (FFC-sputtering) method for fabricating c-axis oriented AlN film

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
In this study, we developed a novel growth method named “Flux-Film-Coated (FFC) sputtering.” In this method, nitrogen radicals were supplied to the Al–Sn flux at around 600 °C followed by the deposition of an Al–Sn metal film on a sapphire substrate as ...

Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.
