Evidence for an involvement of the brain cholecystokinin B receptor in anxiety. [PDF]
The effect of neuropeptide cholecystokinin (CCK) receptor agonists and antagonists was examined in the rat elevated X-maze model of anxiety. The selective CCK-B receptor antagonists CI-988 (PD 134308) and L-365,260 produced anxiolytic-like effects, whereas MK-329, a CCK-A receptor antagonist, was respectively less potent by factors of 313 and 200.

This study discriminates between sulfated and unsulfated cholecystokinin‐8 gut‐hormone forms at single‐molecule‐level resolution. Using an aerolysin nanopore embedded in a hybrid lipid‐polymer membrane, the system produces distinct electrical signatures enabling highly sensitive detection, even in 20% human serum.

Summary Background Bariatric surgery is very effective in long‐term weight management. The present study was undertaken to investigate the short‐term effects of sleeve gastrectomy (SG) and of Roux‐en‐Y gastric bypass (RYGB) on (a) gastrointestinal (GI) motility, that is gastric emptying and oro‐cecal transit time and (b) secretion of regulatory gut ...
