The relationship of cerb B 2 expression with estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor and prognostic parameters in endometrial carcinomas

open access: yesDiagnostic Pathology, 2010
Background Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is the most common malignancy of the female genital tract. Gene alterations and overexpression of various oncogenes are important in tumor development.

Expression and activation of erbB-2 and epidermal growth factor receptor in lung adenocarcinomas [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 1995
ErbB-2 and EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) are expressed in lung adenocarcinomas and associated with a poor prognosis. Immunocytochemical analysis revealed erbB-2 and EGFR coexperession as a characteristic feature of most lung adenocarcinomas, and at levels of receptor expression present in bronchial epithelial cells.

A bivalent single-chain antibody-toxin specific for ErbB-2 and the EGF receptor [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, 1996
ErbB-2 and EGF receptors are often co-expressed in human tumors and have been shown to synergize in the transformation of cells in experimental model systems. Transactivation of ErbB-2 can occur via ligand-induced heterodimerization with EGF receptor or other members of the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases.

Neuregulin promotes incomplete autophagy of prostate cancer cells that is independent of mTOR pathway inhibition. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Growth factors activating the ErbB receptors have been described in prostate tumors. The androgen dependent prostate cancer cell line, LNCaP, expresses the ErbB-1, ErbB-2 and ErbB-3 receptor tyrosine kinases.

Clinical relevance of soluble c-erbB-2 for patients with metastatic breast cancer predicting the response to second-line hormone or chemotherapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Concentrations of soluble c-erbB-2 were determined in the sera of 64 patients with distant metastasis from advanced breast cancer receiving second-line hormone or chemotherapy in comparison to 35 breast cancer patients without detectable recurrent ...

Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Family and its Role in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2019
Despite the gradual decrease in incidence, gastric cancer is still the third leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Although chemotherapy enhances overall survival and quality of life in advanced disease, the median overall survival is < 12 months ...

Impact of somatic PI3K pathway and ERBB family mutations on pathological complete response (pCR) in HER2-positive breast cancer patients who received neoadjuvant HER2-targeted therapies

open access: yesBreast Cancer Research, 2017
Background The Cancer Genome Atlas analysis revealed that somatic EGFR, receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2 (ERBB2), Erb-B2 receptor tyrosine kinase 3 (ERBB3) and Erb-B2 receptor tyrosine kinase 4 (ERBB4) gene mutations (ERBB family mutations) occur ...

Systems analysis of drug-induced receptor tyrosine kinase reprogramming following targeted mono- and combination anti-cancer therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) are key drivers of cancer progression and targets for drug therapy. A major challenge in anti-RTK treatment is the dependence of drug effectiveness on co-expression of multiple RTKs which defines resistance to single ...

Activation of ErbB-2 via a hierarchical interaction between ErbB-2 and type I insulin-like growth factor receptor in mammary tumor cells [PDF]

open access: yesOncogene, 2001
The present study focused on interactions between signaling pathways activated by progestins and by type I and II receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) in mammary tumors. An experimental model in which the synthetic progestin medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) induced mammary adenocarcinomas in Balb/c mice was used. MPA-stimulated proliferation, both in vivo

MiR-323a regulates ErbB3/EGFR and blocks gefitinib resistance acquisition in colorectal cancer

open access: yesCell Death and Disease, 2022
The rapid onset of resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) limits its clinical utility in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients, and pan-erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase (ErbB) treatment strategy may be the ...
