Humoral Regulation of Osteoclasts and Their Role in Bone Resorption
Osteoclasts are derived from the macrophage haematopoietic lineage, resemble monocyte-like phagocytic cells, and are involved in bone resorption. The cells of the bone and the immune system communicate by cytokines and growth factors.

Alzheimer's Disease Risk Factor APOE4 Exerts Dimorphic Effects on Female Bone
In aging bone, osteocytes accumulate neurodegenerative risk factor Apolipoprotein E (APOE). A humanized version of the Alzheimer's disease risk allele APOE4 altered the mouse bone transcriptome and proteome, with effects in female bone surpassing the brain, including bone fragility due to suppressed osteocytic maintenance of bone quality, identifying ...

Inspired by natural amino acid polymer‐melanin systems, this study strategically incorporated tellurocysteine to develop advanced radiation‐shielding materials. This approach transformed the primary interaction mechanism between melanin‐based materials and incident photons from Compton scattering to the photoelectric effect. Tellurocysteine‐polymerized

Direct and indirect regulation of bone metabolism by lactoferrin
Lactoferrin exerts positive regulation on bone metabolism through both direct and indirect pathways. Directly, it modulates osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and chondrocytes via factors such as insulin-like growth factor (IGF), low-density lipoprotein receptor ...

Nuclear mechanical properties are inherently scale‐dependent, arising from a hierarchical architecture that spans DNA, chromatin, the nuclear envelope, and condensates. Experimental techniques and theoretical models are integrated into a cohesive multiscale framework linking nanoscale structural features to organelle‐level mechanical behavior.

Expressions of Osteoprotegerin and Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand in Alveolar Bone Socket under Low Plasma Estrogen Level Condition [PDF]
Background: Decreasing of estrogen level can lead to alveolar bone loss. This bone loss reflects an imbalance between resorption and apposition. Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL) is a key mediator in osteoclast activation ...

This study reveals the dual role of celecoxib in intervertebral disc degeneration. While low concentrations are protective, high concentrations induce toxicity by upregulating HSP90, which synergizes with USP15 to deubiquitinate and stabilize RBX1. This leads to degradation of COMMD1/ATP7B, copper dyshomeostasis, and ultimately, cuproptosis.
