IgE Antibodies: From Structure to Function and Clinical Translation

open access: yesAntibodies, 2019
Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies are well known for their role in mediating allergic reactions, and their powerful effector functions activated through binding to Fc receptors FcεRI and FcεRII/CD23. Structural studies of IgE-Fc alone, and when

Expression and Display of Glycoengineered Antibodies and Antibody Fragments with an Engineered Yeast Strain

open access: yesAntibodies, 2021
Interactions with cell surface receptors enhance the therapeutic properties of many important antibodies, including the low-affinity Fc γ Receptors (FcγRs). These interactions require proper processing of the immunoglobulin G Fc N-glycan, and eliminating

QTY Code-designed Water-soluble Fc-fusion Cytokine Receptors Bind to their Respective Ligands

open access: yesQRB Discovery, 2020
Cytokine release syndrome (CRS), or ‘cytokine storm’, is the leading side effect during chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T therapy that is potentially life-threatening.

The pharmacology and therapeutic applications of monoclonal antibodies

open access: yesPharmacology Research & Perspectives, 2019
Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) have emerged as a major class of therapeutic agents on the market. To date, approximately 80 mAbs have been granted marketing approval.

Regulation of murine hypersensitive responses by Fc receptors

open access: yesAllergology International, 1998
Humoral and cellular immune responses communicate with each other via Fc receptors (FcR) expressed on various hematopoietic cells. Recent studies on several FcR knockout mice demonstrated pivotal roles of an IgG/FcγR system in the regulation of immune ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

IgG fc receptors provide an alternative infection route for murine gamma-herpesvirus-68.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2007
BackgroundHerpesviruses can be neutralized in vitro but remain infectious in immune hosts. One difference between these settings is the availability of immunoglobulin Fc receptors. The question therefore arises whether a herpesvirus exposed to apparently

Fc-based Duokines: dual-acting costimulatory molecules comprising TNFSF ligands in the single-chain format fused to a heterodimerizing Fc (scDk-Fc)

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2022
Targeting costimulatory receptors of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily (TNFSF) to activate T-cells and promote anti-tumor T-cell function have emerged as a promising strategy in cancer immunotherapy.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

B Cell-Based Seamless Engineering of Antibody Fc Domains. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Engineering of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) enables us to obtain mAbs with additional functions. In particular, modifications in antibody's Fc (fragment, crystallizable) region can provide multiple benefits such as added toxicity by drug conjugation ...
