Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptors (FGFRs) in Human Sperm: Expression, Functionality and Involvement in Motility Regulation. [PDF]
Fibroblast growth factors receptors (FGFRs) have been widely characterized in somatic cells, but there is scarce evidence of their expression and function in mammalian gametes. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the expression of FGFRs in

Role of FGF System in Neuroendocrine Neoplasms: Potential Therapeutic Applications
Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are a heterogeneous group of tumors originating from neuroendocrine cells dispersed in different organs. Receptor tyrosine kinases are a subclass of tyrosine kinases with a relevant role in several cellular processes ...

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Structural insights into the potency and selectivity of covalent pan-FGFR inhibitors
The human fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs) are attractive targets for cancer therapy, but the structural basis for kinase targeting and gatekeeper mutations of covalent FGFR inhibitors are not fully understood.

Role of fibroblast growth factor 8 in growth and progression of hormonal cancer
Hormonal cancers such as breast and prostate cancer arise from steroid hormone-regulated tissues. In addition to breast and prostate cancer hormonal regulation has also a role in endometrial, ovarian, testis and thyroid carcinomas.

Inhibition of the tyrosine phosphatase SHP-2 suppresses angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo [PDF]
Endothelial cell survival is indispensable to maintain endothelial integrity and initiate new vessel formation. We investigated the role of SHP-2 in endothelial cell survival and angiogenesis in vitro as well as in vivo.

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
