Neurosteroids modulate the function of γ-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAA) receptors in the brain. We showed that GABAA receptors modulate neurosteroid interactions with VDAC. GABA enhanced [3H]6-AziP labeling of VDAC in a concentration-dependent manner.
