A common polymorphism in the LDL receptor gene has multiple effects on LDL receptor function [PDF]
A common synonymous single nucleotide polymorphism in exon 12 of the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) gene, rs688, has been associated with increased plasma total and LDL cholesterol in several populations. Using immortalized lymphoblastoid cell lines from a healthy study population, we confirmed an earlier report that the minor allele of rs688 ...

A thiol‐modified alginate hydrogel microsphere‐encapsulated enzyme‐probiotic biohybrid (AKK‐COD) system has been developed to address the spatiotemporal delivery and colonization challenges of small intestine‐targeted probiotic for lipid metabolism regulation. The system exerts sequential functions of intragastric protection, small intestinal adhesion,

A dot-blot assay for the low density lipoprotein receptor.
We describe a new method for detecting the interaction of low density lipoprotein with its receptor using unmodified nitrocellulose as support for membrane protein. The method is specific and sensitive down to 3 micrograms of membrane protein.

Stage‐Specific H3K14 and H3K23 Succinylation Orchestrates Insect Metamorphosis and Oogenesis
Stage‐specific succinylation of histone H3 at lysine 14 and 23 differentially controls insect metamorphosis and oogenesis through distinct GPCR‐PKC signaling cascades, revealing an evolutionarily conserved epigenetic mechanism that coordinates key life‐history traits.

We demonstrate that L2C lymphocytes have about 10-times more receptors for transferrin (TO than healthy lymphocytes, as has been shown in the case of LDL receptors. The dissociation constant is the same in the two cell types (about 4 × 10−7 M).

Lactational lactoferrin deficiency exerts lasting effects on epididymal adipose tissue development from lactation into adulthood: it impairs adipocyte hyperplasia and induces pathological hypertrophy, resulting in lower body weight yet exacerbated metabolic dysfunction under a high‐fat diet in adulthood.

The conversion of very low density (VLDL) to low density lipoproteins (LDL) is a two-step process. The first step is mediated by lipoprotein lipase, but the mechanism responsible for the second is obscure.

Dual targeting of ANGPTL3 and IL‐33/ST2 attenuates diabetic kidney disease by reprogramming lipid–inflammatory crosstalk. This strategy reduces renal lipotoxicity, suppresses inflammatory activation, and limits fibrotic remodeling, thereby preserving kidney structure and function and highlighting a mechanism‐guided therapeutic approach for metabolic ...
