Lipoprotein Nanoplatform for Targeted Delivery of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Agents

open access: yesMolecular Imaging, 2008
Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) provides a highly versatile natural nanoplatform for delivery of visible or near-infrared fluorescent optical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents and photodynamic therapy and chemotherapeutic agents to ...

Senescent Cell Derived Artificial Vesicle‐Based Senolytic Sonovaccine Platform with Augmented Lymph Node Delivery and Antigen Cross‐Presentation Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A senolytic sonovaccine platform (SenoVac) is developed, in which senescent cell‐derived vesicles serve as broad senescent cell antigen reservior. The “2‐step” click chemistry strategy for effective lymph node delivery, and ultrasound‐triggered endosomal escape to boost cross‐presentation, ensures efficient senescent cell clearance and disease ...

LDL Stimulates Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Phosphatase-1 Expression, Independent of LDL Receptors, in Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yes, 1999
—Low density lipoprotein (LDL) is a well-established risk factor for atherosclerosis, stimulating vascular smooth muscle cell (SMC) differentiation and proliferation, but the signal transduction pathways between LDL stimulation and cell proliferation are

Pathological Mechanism‐Inspired Biomimetic Nano‐Senotherapy for Reversing Experimental Atherosclerosis in ApoE−/− Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The biomimetic self‐assembly nanomedicine reversing atherosclerosis via senotherapy strategy. ABSTRACT The greatest challenge in atherosclerosis (AS) management lies in achieving lesion reversal, not merely slowing progression. Senescent cell accumulation—driven by continuous generation and apoptotic resistance—perpetuates plaque pathology and ...

Deletion of the murine scavenger receptor CD68[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2011
Scavenger receptors (ScRs) are a structurally unrelated family of receptors with the ability to bind modified low density lipoprotein (LDL) as well as a broad range of polyanionic ligands.

SuFEx‐Enabled Reprogramming of Flavonoids for Selective α‐Glucosidase Covalent Inhibition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Selective inhibition of intestinal α‐glucosidase remains limited by poor enzyme specificity and off‐target metabolic effects. Here, SuFEx click chemistry is used to reprogram natural flavonoids into covalent inhibitors with enhanced α‐glucosidase selectivity and controlled reactivity. This strategy enables effective regulation of carbohydrate digestion

Atherosclerosis is enhanced by testosterone deficiency and attenuated by CETP expression in transgenic mice

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
In this work, we investigated the impact of testosterone deficiency and cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) expression on lipoprotein metabolism and diet-induced atherosclerosis. CETP transgenic mice and nontransgenic (nTg) littermates were studied

NIR‐II‐Trackable LYTACs Phyto‐Nanotheranostics for Source‐Microenvironment Dual‐Track ROS Regulation in Acute Gouty Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The TPR‐LYTACs nanomaterial offers a dual‐pathway strategy for precise gouty arthritis treatment by targeting and degrading the ROS‐producing enzyme NOX2 inside macrophages while its antioxidant core clears accumulated ROS outside. This “source inhibition and microenvironment scavenging” approach, guided by NIR‐II imaging, effectively controls local ...

Cholesterol Laundry of Cell Membrane and Fatty Liver by Detergent Liposomes to Improve Anti‐Cancer Drug Responsiveness of Patient Liver Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cholesterol‐enriched plasma membranes in hepatocellular carcinoma impede drug penetration. Cholesterol (+)‐liposomes act as membrane‐specific detergents, extracting cholesterol and reducing barrier function without cytotoxicity. Following endocytosis, cholesterol transfers from endosomes to liposomes and is metabolized in the ER.

Oxidized phospholipids, linked to apolipoprotein B of oxidized LDL, are ligands for macrophage scavenger receptors

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2000
Previous studies have shown that macrophage receptors for oxidized LDL (OxLDL) recognize both the lipid and protein moieties, and that a monoclonal antibody against OxLDL, EO6, also recognizes both species.
