ABSTRACT Aim Children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) are at risk of metabolic and cardiovascular complications. We evaluated the development of overweight and obesity for 5 years after diagnosis in children and adolescents treated for ALL. Methods The medical records of children diagnosed with ALL at one centre during 2000–2018 were assessed.

Is there a role for cannabidiol in obesity, metabolic syndrome and binge eating?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant phytocannabinoids isolated from the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD is a lipophilic, non‐intoxicating substance that differently from Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9‐THC) does not present the typical profile of a drug of abuse.

Abstract Background and Purpose Alarming trends show that vaping e‐cigarettes containing synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonists, such as JWH‐018, is increasing among youth. However, the effects of these trends are unclear in both sexes. We therefore characterized the neuropharmacological effects of adolescent JWH‐018 inhalation in male and female rats.

Background and Purpose The contribution of obesity to pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Adipose tissue synthesises estrogens via cytochrome P450 (CYP) 19A1 (aromatase), whereas circulating estrogens are metabolised in the lung by CYP1A1.
