EFFECT OF FENAMATES ON PROSTAGLANDIN E RECEPTOR BINDING

The Lancet, 1988
The effect of fenamates on prostaglandin E receptor binding was examined in myometrial samples collected at hysterectomy. Sodium meclofenamate and mefenamic acid inhibited binding of PGE2 to its specific receptor in a dose-dependent manner, with an ED50 of 20 mumol/l and 200 mumol/l, respectively.

Roles of prostaglandin E receptors in stress responses

Current Opinion in Pharmacology, 2009
Stress is a condition in which the body homeostasis is perturbed by various stimuli such as sickness and psychological stimuli. Stress evokes adaptive responses including febrile, neuroendocrine, and behavioral responses. Prostaglandin (PG) E(2) is a metabolite from arachidonic acid, and exerts its functions through G-protein-coupled receptors called ...

Distribution of prostaglandin E receptors in the rat gastrointestinal tract

Prostaglandins, 1997
In order to study the role of prostaglandin in the regulation of the gastrointestinal functions, gene expression of prostaglandin receptors along the rat gastrointestinal tracts were investigated.Rats were used for the study. The combination of counterflow elutriation separation of mucosal cells and Northern blot analysis was used to detect the gene ...

Increased uterine prostaglandin E receptors in menorrhagic women

BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1988
Summary. PGE receptor concentrations were measured in myometrial samples collected from 10 women at hysterectomy. Five women had normal measured menstrual blood loss (35–44 ml) and the remainder had unexplained menorrhagia occurring in the absence of any uterine, pelvic or general pathology, with losses ranging from 85 to 925 ml.
