Recombinant Cytokines from Plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Plant-based platforms have been successfully applied for the last two decades for the efficient production of pharmaceutical proteins. The number of commercialized products biomanufactured in plants is, however, rather discouraging. Cytokines are small

Identification of a Novel Chitinase from Bacillus paralicheniformis: Gene Mining, Sequence Analysis, and Enzymatic Characterization

open access: yesFoods
In this study, a novel strain for degrading chitin was identified as Bacillus paralicheniformis HL37, and the key chitinase CH1 was firstly mined through recombinant expression in Bacillus amyloliquefaciens HZ12.

Expression of Recombinant Toxoplasma gondii P24.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 1999
The gene encoding Toxoplasma gondii P24 has been reported previously. To determine the function of P24 against immune systems in the near future, we prepared recombinant P24 antigens using Escherichia coli, insect cells infected with recombinant baculovirus and mammalian cells infected with recombinant vaccinia virus.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Evaluation of a reverse tetracycline inducible system in recombinant BCG to improve stability and immunogenicity

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of this study is to utilise the tetracycline dependent gene regulation system to down-regulate recombinant antigen expression in BCG during the expansion of seed stocks and up-regulate expression prior to or post ...

Expression of an anti-CD33 single-chain antibody by Pichia pastoris [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
CD33 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed on cells of myelomonocytic lineage, leukaemic cells, but not haematopoietic stem cells. By virtue of its expression pattern, CD33 has become a popular target for new immunotherapeutic approaches to treat ...

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and
