Comparative study between reconstructed and native human epidermis using nuclear microscopy

open access: yes, 2005
International audienceThe physiological status of native skin is suffering from large inter-individual variations, especially in terms of inorganic ions content.

Transient activation of FOXN1 in keratinocytes induces a transcriptional programme that promotes terminal differentiation: contrasting roles of FOXN1 and Akt [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The forkhead transcription factor FOXN1 is required for normal cutaneous and thymic epithelial development. Mutations in FOXN1 give rise to the nude phenotype in mice, rats and man. However, the genes that are regulated by FOXN1 are unknown.

Stage‐Adaptive Janus Microneedle System for Redox‐Immune Regulation and Mitochondrial Protection in Infected Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infected diabetic wounds are sustained by a vicious cycle of hyperglycemia‐driven bacterial infection, persistent oxidative stress, and excessive inflammation, which collectively disrupt the ordered progression of tissue repair. Here, we engineered a stage‐adaptive Janus microneedle patch (MN‐FeSAC‐PPE) to enable a staged therapeutic process ...

Condition‐Associated Pattern Extraction and Recovery From Multi‐Condition Single‐Cell RNA‐seq Data With CAPER

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Decoupling biological signals from unwanted variation in multi‑condition single‑cell RNA sequencing data remains challenging. CAPER disentangles condition‑associated biological effects from sample heterogeneity through matrix factorization, producing interpretable latent factors and a batch‑corrected expression matrix.

Biomimetic Nanoplatform for Dual Target Nano‐Metabolic Therapy in Diabetes‐Associated Biofilm Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic GOx/Arg‐loaded nanoplatform produces nitric oxide through an in situ catalytic cascade reaction, enabling dual‐target metabolic regulation in diabetes‐associated biofilm infections. Bacterial metabolism is disrupted, and macrophage immunometabolism is reprogrammed, resulting in biofilm eradication, immune restoration, and enhanced ...

Fas Ligand-Induced Proinflammatory Transcriptional Responses in Reconstructed Human Epidermis

open access: yes, 2007
Fas ligand (FasL) exerts potent proapoptotic and proinflammatory actions on epidermal keratinocytes and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of eczema, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and drug-induced skin eruptions.

Unraveling Bone‐Skin Crosstalk Enables miRNA Nanoformulation for Cutaneous Neurovascular Reconstruction in Diabetic Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study unravels that bone fracture accelerates diabetic wound healing by releasing exosomal microRNA (miR‐130b‐3p). To mimic this bone‐skin crosstalk, we engineered a self‐assembling agomir‐130b‐3p nanocomplex. Delivered via a photocrosslinkable hydrogel, this bio‐inspired therapy provides sustained localized agomir release.

Differential Expression of Calgranulin A and B in Various Epithelial Cell Lines and Reconstructed Epidermis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The monoclonal antibody F12, raised against epidermal cells from a psoriatic lesion, decorated antigens highly expressed in psoriatic epidermis and in cultured normal human keratinocytes.

Spatially Organized Human Ovarian Spheroids Instruct Endometrial Morphogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A spatially organized human follicle‐like spheroid (SPHEGaT) composed of granulosa cells (GCs) and stromal‐derived theca‐like cells (TLCs) establishes sustained steroidogenesis in vitro. When co‐cultured with human endometrial organoids (EMOs), estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) exchange induces secretory/progesterone‐responsive differentiation ...
