The Impact of Sustainability Labelling on Consumers' Evaluation and Choice of Food Products: A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The last five years of research on sustainability labelling, reported in 175 journal articles, documents its effectiveness in increasing consumer choices of more sustainable food products. Some sustainability labels come out as stronger than others and their impact varies across products, countries, and individual consumers, depending on label

Evaluation of Circular Pathways for Heavy‐Duty Vehicle Batteries in Europe Using a Multi‐Method Simulation Approach

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Circular battery strategies have become of major interest focusing on material availability while increasing economic and environmental benefits. In this context of circular economy, one main challenge for automotive original equipment manufacturers is that the most profitable handling strategy along the lifecycle is unknown.

Translating Green Intellectual Capital Into Green Business Strategy: Exploring the Roles of Sustainable Supply Chain Flexibility and Green Organizational Identity

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how green intellectual capital (GIC) drives the development of green business strategy (GBS) in the wine industry by examining the mediating roles of sustainable supply chain flexibility (SSCF) and green organizational identity (GOI).

Imports versus Domestic Production: A Demand System Analysis of the U.S. Red Wine Market [PDF]

open access: yes
This research estimates price and expenditure elasticities of U.S. red wine imports from five countries--Italy, France, Spain, Australia, and Chile--which are compared to elasticities of domestically produced red wine using the first-difference version ...

pH Determination in Grape Must by Benchtop NMR Spectroscopy

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
Benchtop NMR spectroscopy enables electrode‐free pH determination in grape must. By modeling tartaric acid's chemical shift variation, pH is derived directly from NMR spectra alongside standard composition parameters. Validated against 100 samples, this integrated approach tracks pH changes during acidification, deacidification, and fermentation ...

Research progress on effect of maceration on the color quality of red wine [PDF]

open access: yesZhongguo niangzao
Color has become a major factor for consumers to choose a wine, and the main components that determine the color quality of wine are polyphenols, especially anthocyanins. Among the steps of winemaking, maceration is the most important extraction process,

Mechanistic Insights Into Sustainable Catalytic Pyrolysis of Biomass‐Derived Ferulic Acid: The Role of Alumina Regeneration

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Surface‐bound ferulate phenolate complexes undergo styrene‐like polymerization on alumina, yielding a polymeric carbonaceous layer that progressively transforms into polyaromatic carbon domains with concomitant release of aromatic products, while parallel surface‐assisted decarboxylation produces 4‐vinylguaiacol. ABSTRACT A fundamental understanding of

Measuring Thiols in Single Cultivar South African Red Wines Using 4,4-Dithiodipyridine (DTDP) Derivatization and Ultraperformance Convergence Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesFoods, 2018
Wine varietal thiols are important contributors to wine aroma. The chemical nature of thiols makes them difficult to measure due to low concentrations, high sensitivity to oxidation, and low ionization.

Mechanism of Isonitrilase, a Nonheme Iron Decarboxylase Involved in the Biosynthesis of the Isonitrile Group in Peptides: A Computational Study

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A combination of molecular dynamics and quantum mechanics calculations shows that substrate is tightly bound inside the enzyme structure that enables two successive catalytic cycles with dioxygen and α‐ketoglutarate with an initial desaturation followed by hydrogen abstraction and decarboxylation steps to form an isonitrile substituent.
