Immunosuppressive Decalin Derivatives from Red Yeast Rice
Journal of Natural Products, 2012Five new decalin derivatives (1-5), together with two known compounds (6 and 7), were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of red yeast rice. Their structures were elucidated by means of NMR and mass spectroscopic analyses. Monascusic lactone A (1) is the first reported naturally occurring decalin derivative possessing a spiro lactone at the C-1 ...

Six new monacolin analogs from red yeast rice
Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines, 2019Six novel monacolin analogs, monacolins V1-V6 (1-6), together with seven known ones (7-13), were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of red yeast rice. Their structures and absolute configurations were determined by spectroscopic methods, especially 2D NMR (1H-1HCOSY, HSQC, HMBC, and NOESY/ROESY) and CD spectroscopic analyses as well as chemical ...

Red yeast rice for dysipidemia.
Missouri medicine, 2013Red yeast rice is an ancient Chinese food product that contains monacolins, chemical substances that are similar to statins in their mechanisms of action and lipid lowering properties. Several studies have found red yeast rice to be moderately effective at improving the lipid profile, particularly for lowering the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol ...
