Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Inverse Kinematics and Control of a 7-DOF Redundant Manipulator Based on the Closed-Loop Algorithm

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2010
Closed-loop inverse kinematics (CLIK) algorithm mostly resolves the redundancy at the velocity level. In this paper we extend the CLIK algorithm to the acceleration level to meet some applications that require the joint accelerations.

Taxonomic aggregation and redundancy in a tropical macroinfaunal assemblage of the southern Caribbean in the detection of temporal patterns

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2005
The infaunal soft bottom communities of the southern Caribbean are poorly known, partially due to the scarcity of specialised literature and taxonomic expertise for this region.

Redundancy of stereoscopic images: Experimental Evaluation

open access: yes, 2005
With the recent advancement in visualization devices over the last years, we are seeing a growing market for stereoscopic content. In order to convey 3D content by means of stereoscopic displays, one needs to transmit and display at least 2 points of ...

Gabor Shearlets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we introduce Gabor shearlets, a variant of shearlet systems, which are based on a different group representation than previous shearlet constructions: they combine elements from Gabor and wavelet frames in their construction.

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Partial Quantifier Elimination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We consider the problem of Partial Quantifier Elimination (PQE). Given formula exists(X)[F(X,Y) & G(X,Y)], where F, G are in conjunctive normal form, the PQE problem is to find a formula F*(Y) such that F* & exists(X)[G] is logically equivalent to exists(

Redundancy resolution of manipulators through torque optimization [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings. 1985 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 1987
Methods for resolving kinematic redundancies of manipulators by the effect on joint torque are examined. When the generalized inverse is formulated in terms of accelerations and incorporated into the dynamics, the effect of redundancy resolution on joint torque can be directly reflected.

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.
