Regioselectivity-Switchable Hydroarylation of Styrenes
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2010Cobalt-phosphine and cobalt-carbene catalysts have been developed for the hydroarylation of styrenes via chelation-assisted C-H bond activation, to afford branched and linear addition products, respectively, in a highly regioselective fashion. Deuterium-labeling experiments suggested a mechanism involving reversible C-H bond cleavage and olefin ...

Regioselective Hydrodebromination of Polybrominated Indoles
European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014AbstractThe mixture of sodium borohydride and N,N,N′,N′‐tetramethylethylenediamine in combination with a palladium catalyst is a mild and efficient system for the regioselective hydrodebromination of polybrominated indoles with both N‐donating and N‐withdrawing substituents [N‐methyl‐ and N‐(methoxycarbonyl)indoles, respectively].

The regioselective synthesis of aryl pyrroles
Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2006Pyrrole is a unique aromatic molecule as it can readily undergo substitution at all five positions but obtaining the desired regioisomer can prove difficult to control. We now report our results on the regioselective arylation of pyrrole, utilizing selective halogenation and the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction to prepare C4-, C5- and C3-aryl derivatives.

Regioselectivity in Aromatic Claisen Rearrangements
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2003Theoretical calculations and the isomeric product composition for a series of eight meta-substituted allyl aryl ethers confirm the reliability of a new (1)H NMR methodology used to predict aromatic Claisen regioselectivity from ground-state conformational preference of the reactant allyloxy group. Frontier HOMO-LUMO intramolecular orbital interactions,

Origin of the Regioselective Reduction of Chlorins
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015The reduction of a free-base chlorin generally forms a bacteriochlorin (BC), while the reduction of the corresponding metallochlorin forms a metalloisobacteriochlorin (M-iBC). This regioselectivity has been long known but was never fully rationalized.

Regioselective monodeprotection of peracetylated carbohydrates
Nature Protocols, 2012This protocol describes the regioselective deprotection of single hydroxyls in peracetylated monosaccharides and disaccharides by enzymatic or chemoenzymatic strategies. The introduction of a one-pot enzymatic step by using immobilized biocatalysts obviates the requirement to carry out tedious workups and time-consuming purifications.
