AGE BITUMEN REJUVENATION INCORPORATING REJUVENATORS

open access: yesJurnal Tekno, 2022
To restore the performance of old bitumen which has been stiff and hard to become maltenes, it is necessary to add a rejuvenator to makes the old bitumen will soften and the performance of the bitumen will increase. This paper presents the results of physical property tests of aged bitumen incorporating rejuvenators.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

An Adaptive Reconfiguration Mechanism for Periodic Software Rejuvenation based on Transient Reliability Analysis

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
While software rejuvenation is used to prevent severe software failures, existing researches generally choose the constant-value periodic policy through steady-state reliability optimization.

Aging, rejuvenation, and memory effects in short-range Ising spin glass: Cu$_{0.5}$Co$_{0.5}$Cl$_{2}$-FeCl$_{3}$ graphite bi-intercalation compound

open access: yes, 2004
Non-equilibrium aging dynamics in 3D Ising spin glass Cu$_{0.5}$Co$_{0.5}$Cl$_{2}$-FeCl$_{3}$ GBIC has been studied by zero-field cooled (ZFC) magnetization and low frequency AC magnetic susceptibility ($f = 0.05$ Hz), where $T_{g} = 3.92 \pm 0.11$ K ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

LASMIK laser biorevitalization: mechanisms and therapeutic experience

open access: yesDermatology Reports, 2020
LASMIK laser biorevitalization is a well-known technology developed in Russia that is based on laser phoresis as a method to enhance percutaneous penetration of substances. The article describes the mechanisms that act here and factors that determine the

Rejuvenation of Senescent Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stromal Cells by Pulsed Triboelectric Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2021
Stem cell senescence contributes to stem cell exhaustion and drives various aging‐associated disorders. However, strategies to rejuvenate senescent stem cells are limited.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

PPARgamma Deficiency Counteracts Thymic Senescence

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2017
Thymic senescence contributes to increased incidence of infection, cancer and autoimmunity at senior ages. This process manifests as adipose involution. As with other adipose tissues, thymic adipose involution is also controlled by PPARgamma.
