Single‐cell RNA sequencing reveals an opposite role of SLPI in basal tumors based on metastatic spread, along with shared activation of specific regulons in cancer cells and mature luminal lactocytes, as well as downregulation of MALAT1 and NEAT1 in the latter.

The authors of this paper were interested to see whether the expression of three proteins (A, B and C) was altered in a knockout mouse model of a gene encoding Protein X. Each experiment measured the expression of a different protein and the results seem to show a clear increase in protein expression in the mutant mouse compared with the control.

Imeglimin attenuates liver fibrosis by inhibiting vesicular ATP release from hepatic stellate cells

Imeglimin, at clinically relevant concentrations, inhibits vesicular ATP accumulation and release from hepatic stellate cells, thereby attenuating purinergic signaling and reducing fibrogenic activation. This mechanism reveals a newly identified antifibrotic action of imeglimin beyond glycemic control.

Budding yeast replication origins are activated during S phase according to a predetermined temporal programme. Two recent studies indicate that this programme is executed, at least in part, by the S-phase-promoting cyclins that act to assemble a pre-initiation complex which includes the Cdc45 protein.
