An Optimized Freeze‐Dry Multimodal Workflow for Sequential Micro‐CT Imaging, Histology, and Molecular Profiling: A Use Case in Human Liver Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Optimized freeze‐drying and eosin staining deliver artifact‐free micro‐CT images of liver tissue at near‐histological detail, then hand the same specimen back for sectioning, staining, and sequencing. Fibrotic volume distinguishes normal liver from cirrhosis, while preserved RNA reveals inflammatory gene upregulation—one biopsy, three dimensions, and a

Integrated O2 and H2 Gas Therapy via Microneedle‐Assisted Photocatalytic Water Splitting for Accelerating Diabetic Full‐Thickness Skin Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A concept of integrated O2 and H2 gas therapy is achieved using a gas‐producing material. PMP nanoparticles, fabricated from platinum, MIL‐101(Fe)‐NH2, and phosphotungstic acid, are integrated into bilayer gelatin methacryloyl microneedles for transdermal delivery. These microneedles enable integrated O2 and H2 gas therapy and promote wound healing via

Natural Product Toosendanin Suppresses the Malignant Development of Skin Melanoma by Targeting BNC2 for Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BNC2 exhibits context‐dependent opposing functions across multiple cancer types. This study reveals BNC2 as an oncogenic driver of melanoma proliferation and metastasis through transcriptional activation of PIK3CA. The natural compound TSN simultaneously degrades BNC2 and its oncogenic partner SMAD3 via CRBN‐dependent ubiquitination.

Margin Requirements with Intraday Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes
Both in practice and in the academic literature, models for setting margin requirements in futures markets use daily closing price changes. However, financial markets have recently shown high intraday volatility, which could bring more risk than expected.

A positive proximal resection margin is associated with anastomotic complications following primary ileocaecal resection for Crohn's disease

open access: yes, 2019
Purposes: Bowel resection in patients with Crohn's disease (CD) has a high reported rate of postoperative complications and surgical recurrence. A macroscopically normal resection margin is recommended in CD surgery as wider margins do not translate in ...

Targeting LDHA Palmitoylation Sensitizes GBM to Chemoradiotherapy via Suppressing Palmitic Acid Induced Glycolytic Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal GSCs preferentially uptake palmitic acid, thereby promoting ZDHHC12‐mediated LDHA palmitoylation. This modification enhances LDHA enzymatic activity, drives glycolytic reprogramming, and facilitates exosomal LDHA‐mediated TAM regulation.

Preoperative Chemotherapy and Resection Margin Status in Colorectal Liver Metastasis Patients: A Propensity Score-Matched Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this article, we compared the early and long-term outcomes of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer treated with chemotherapy followed by resection with those of patients undergoing surgery first, focusing our analysis on resection margin status.
