Prediction Method of Residual Strength of Casing with Different Corrosion Defects

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2019
To predict the residual strength of the corroded casing in production wells, based on the regularized characterization of the shape of the corrosion pit on the casing surface, a mechanical analysis model of casing that can simulate the corrosion pits ...

The VHL tumor suppressor at the crossroad of protein folding, aggregation, and cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Mutations, environmental stress, and chaperone dysfunction can destabilize pVHL, promoting its conversion from the native folded state into amyloid‐like assemblies. This transition may contribute to protein storage, cell dormancy, survival, and drug resistance.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Effect of Crack Pattern on the Residual Strength of Ceramics After Quenching

open access: yes, 2011
The physical mechanisms between residual strength and crack characteristic of ceramics after water-quenching are studied by statistically measuring the cracks in ceramic sheet.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Determining The Residual Strength Of SFRC Flexural Members

open access: yesMokslas: Lietuvos Ateitis, 2013
The application of steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) isconstantly increasing. However, due to the absence of universallyaccepted guidelines for SFRC, the application fields of this materialare still limited. Post-cracking load carrying capacity is aproperty of concrete most benefited by steel fibre reinforcement, usually designed by the residual ...

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.
