Was Dan Janzen (1977) right about aphid clones being a "super-organism", i.e. a single "evolutionary individual"? : new insights from the use of molecular marker systems [PDF]
Dan Janzen proposed in a paper in 1977 (loc. cit.), that a clone of aphids and for that matter dandelions consists, respectively, of one large ‘super-organism’.

Evolution of resistance in ecological and epidemiological contexts.
Understanding the dynamics of an infectious disease, such as malaria, helps us to reduce the number of deaths and to achieve better control of its spread. Mathematical models can help to predict the outcomes of new ideas for containing disease spread.

Interactions Between Active Matters and Endogenous Fields
This review synthesizes endogenous field information and computational methods in contexts such as cancer, wounds, and biofilms. It organizes NAMs and AAMs by sensing, transmitting, and executing functions, compares their limitations, and from these contrasts proposes design strategies for next‐generation AAMs, offering perspectives to foster ...

A new embedded 3D printing (EMB3D) strategy enables in situ polymerization of DCPD/COD‐based inks within a fugitive reactive matrix where the activator in the matrix cures the printed filament. Cured ink properties are tunable through DCPD‐COD comonomer ratios, yielding materials from stiff thermosets to soft elastomers.

A review of knowledge of the potential impacts of GMOs on organic agriculture [PDF]
The organic movement believes that organic agriculture, by its nature, cannot involve the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This has been incorporated into EU regulations which state that there is no place in organic agriculture for GMOs ...
