Resorufin: a lead for a new protein kinase CK2 inhibitor [PDF]
Screening a natural compound library led to the identification of resorufin as a highly selective and potent inhibitor of protein kinase CK2. Out of 52 kinases tested, only CK2 was inhibited, in contrast to emodin, a structurally related, known CK2 inhibitor that, in addition to CK2, inhibited ten other kinases by 90%.

On the relationship between the observed dynamics of a colorimetric indicator and the nonlinear dynamics of the population growth under study in the case of microbial cultures [PDF]
The resazurin test is one of the most widespread approaches for studying the growth and metabolic activity of microorganisms. It is based on the colour change of the blue indicator, resazurin, to its pink reduced form, resorufin due to the reduction ...

Resorufin-Based Colorimetric and Fluorescent Probe for Selective Detection of Mercury (II)
Environmental pollution crisis, particularly mercury ions (Hg2+) contamination, seriously threatens the health of all living organisms. Many studies have shown that even extremely low concentrations of Hg2+ can rigorously damage living organisms ...

Substrate scope of ancestral versus modern family-1 glycosidases. [PDF]
Abstract Experimental studies support that protein engineering based on ancestral sequence reconstruction often leads to variants with biotechnologically useful biomolecular properties. These may include high stability, enhanced conformational flexibility and a modified catalysis range.

The effects of drugs, ions, and poly-l-lysine on the excretory system of Schistosoma mansoni
We have been able to label the excretory system of cercariae and all forms of schistosomula, immature and adult worms with the highly fluorescent dye resorufin.

Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) is a highly contagious disease that affects cloven-hoofed animals. The traditional diagnostic methods for FMDV have several drawbacks such as cross-reactivity, low sensitivity, and low selectivity.
