The Lyme disease agent Borrelia burgdorferi has limited metabolic capabilities and depends on salvage of riboflavin via the BB0316‐BB0319 transport system for generation of critical flavin cofactors FMN and FAD. Riboflavin is important for NAD+ regeneration to fuel glycolysis.

Rhizoid growth and AM fungal infection are uncoupled. Summary In Marchantia paleacea, MpaDMI1‐dependent nuclear Ca2+ oscillations are essential for arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal colonisation, indicating that endosymbiosis‐mediated nuclear Ca2+ signalling is a conserved feature of land plant–AM symbiosis.

Abstract Antigen‐processing and ‐presenting cells play a pivotal role in initiation of the antiviral immune response. The cellular adaption of dendritic cells to reduced oxygen and nutrition levels at the site of infection is regulated predominantly by the transcription factor complex hypoxia‐inducible factor‐1 (HIF‐1).

Abstract The Cavβ4 subunit of voltage‐gated Cav1.2 channels regulates gene expression in neurons and cardiac cells. It increases the expression of interferon‐β–related genes in H9c2 cardiomyocytes derived from rat ventricular tissue, but the possibility that it also regulates the expression of microRNAs (miRs) remains unexplored.
