Ultrastructural Details in Germinating Sporangiospores ofRhizopus stoloniferandRhizopus arrhizus [PDF]
Electron microscope examination of sporangiospore sections fromRhizopus stolonifer(Ehrenb. ex Fr.) Lind. andR. arrhizusFischer revealed details on intracellular organization not previously reported. Aldehyde fixation followed by chromeosmium postfixation permitted clear depiction of ribosomes hitherto unrevealed in these cells.

Physiological and Morphological Correlation of Rhizopus stolonifer Spore Germination [PDF]
Sporangiospores of Rhizopus stolonifer were examined at various stages of germination by scanning electron and phase-contrast microscopy. These observations were correlated with changes in spore dry weight, spore volume, respiration, and syntheses of ribonucleic acid, deoxyribonucleic acid, and protein during ...

Meiotic Gene Segregation in Rhizopus stolonifer [PDF]
Summary: Results obtained from the germination of mature zygospores of Rhizopus stolonifer support the hypothesis that normal meiotic processes operate in the sexual cycle of this fungus. The mating-type allele and a second allele, sul, segregated independently.

Rhizopus Soft Rot on Pear (Pyrus serotina) Caused byRhizopus stoloniferin Korea [PDF]
Rhizopus soft rot caused by Rhizopus stolonifer occurred on pears (Pyrus serotina) in the Jinju City Agricultural Products Wholesale Market in Korea from 2004 to 2005. The infection usually started from wounds due to cracking at harvest time. The lesions started as water-soaked, rapidly softened, then gradually expanded.

Microbial Transformations of (+)-Isomenthol by Fusarium lini and Rhizopus stolonifer
Microbial transformation of (+)-isomenthol (1) by various strains of fungi was investigated. Fusarium lini has successfully converted compound 1 into a new metabolite, 5α-hydroxyisomenthol (2), and a known metabolite, 1α-hydroxyisomenthol (3), whereas incubation with Rhizopus stolonifer only yielded metabolite 3.
