The Lyme disease agent Borrelia burgdorferi has limited metabolic capabilities and depends on salvage of riboflavin via the BB0316‐BB0319 transport system for generation of critical flavin cofactors FMN and FAD. Riboflavin is important for NAD+ regeneration to fuel glycolysis.

Azurins With Tunable Reduction Potentials as Redox Mediators for Extracellular Electron Transfer

Electroactive microbe Shewanella oneidensis reduced non‐native electron transfer protein, azurin, via extracellular electron transfer (EET) with dependence on azurin redox potential.
