EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Roles of ribosomal proteins in hematologic disorders and cancers: a review
. Ribosomes are important organelles for synthesizing proteins in cells. They are composed of ribosomal RNA and more than 80 ribosomal proteins. It is well known that an essential function of ribosomal proteins is to participate in protein translation ...

The Amplified Ribosomal DNA of Dytiscid Beetles [PDF]
During oogenesis in many animals there is a massive extrachromosomal synthesis of the genes for ribosomal RNA. In Dytiscid beetles, as in the toad Xenopus , the amplified ribosomal DNA occurs as circular molecules of different sizes. The circles fall into size classes that are integral multiples of a unit circle. It

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Compositional and structural analysis of selected chromosomal domains from Saccharomyces cerevisiae
In eukaryotic genomes, chromatin is the template of all nuclear processes including transcription, recombination and replication. Besides the wrapping of DNA in nucleosome core particles, eukaryotic chromatin is associated, interpreted and modified by ...

Quantitation of Human Ribosomal DNA: Hybridization of Human DNA with Ribosomal RNA for Quantitation and Fractionation [PDF]
Extract: Quantitation of human genes for ribosomal RNA (rRNA) was possible by molecular DNA/RNA hybridization on nitrocellulose discs. Labeled ribosomal RNA hybridizes with an average of 14 × 10-5 of the total human DNA. If we assume that the diploid cell contains 5.5 × 1012 daltons of DNA, the ribosomal RNA hybridizes with 7.7 × 108 daltons of ...

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Replication of Ribosomal DNA in Xenopus laevis [PDF]
The study of the localization of the replication origins of rDNA in Xenopus laevis has been approached by two different methods. 1. The DNA of X. laevis larvae was fractionated by CsCl gradient centrifugation in bulk and ribosomal DNA and examined in the electron microscope.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.
