Experimental Study on Two-phase Flow and Vibration Characteristics of Marine Riser

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2016
In order to identify flow patterns that may occur in the marine riser system and study the dynamic response of the riser under different flow patterns,two-phase flow pressure fluctuations in the riser and resulting riser vibration displacement were ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Numerical Analysis of Particle Uneven Distribution at Riser and Deposit Phenomenon at Cyclone in RFCC Reactor

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
One of the main problems associated with reactors in commercial Residue Fluidized Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) process in refinery plant is that each of six outlets of the riser has different particle mass flow rates.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Impact Analysis of Modal Parameters of Marine Riser Based on Differential Transformation Method

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2018
To study the change rule of modal parameters (natural frequency and vibration mode) of marine risers influenced by structural parameters (riser length and bending stiffness), axial tension (constant tension and variable tension), elastic restraint ...

Recoil Control Analysis of Deepwater Drilling Riser Tension System

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
The drilling riser tension system can mitigate the influence of the floating platform/ship heave motion on the riser and provide a nearly constant top tension force for the riser. Therefore, a large amount of energy is stored in the drilling riser system.

Stability analysis of deepwater compliant vertical access riser about parametric excitation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2019
If heave motion in the platform causes horizontal parametric vibration of a Compliant Vertical Access Riser (CVAR), the riser may become unstable. A combination of riser parameters lies in the unstable region aggravates vibrational damage to the riser ...

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.
