In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Applications of Cas9 as an RNA‐programmed RNA‐binding protein [PDF]
The Streptococcus pyogenes CRISPR‐Cas system has gained widespread application as a genome editing and gene regulation tool as simultaneous cellular delivery of the Cas9 protein and guide RNAs enables recognition of specific DNA sequences. The recent discovery that Cas9 can also bind and cleave RNA in an RNA‐programmable manner indicates the potential ...

Predicting RNA-binding residues from evolutionary information and sequence conservation
Background RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) play crucial roles in post-transcriptional control of RNA. RBPs are designed to efficiently recognize specific RNA sequences after it is derived from the DNA sequence. To satisfy diverse functional requirements, RNA

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

RNA-Binding Proteins in Dinoflagellates
The described features of dinoflagellate gene expression indicate the predominance of post-transcriptional and translational regulation over transcriptional control. These microorganisms also exhibit extensive RNA editing and distinctive splicing characteristics.

RNA-dependent phosphorylation of a nuclear RNA binding protein [PDF]
The human C1 heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle protein (hnRNP protein) undergoes a cycle of phosphorylation–dephosphorylation in HeLa cell nuclear extracts that modulates the binding of this protein to pre-mRNA. We now report that hyperphosphorylation of the C1 hnRNP protein is mediated by a kinase activity in nuclear extracts that is ...
