KDM4A Erases the H3R17me2a Mark, Facilitating Chromosome Condensation
This study reveals a reversible histone modification switch governing chromosome condensation during mitosis. PKCα‐activated KDM4A removes H3R17me2a, permitting Suv39h1‐driven H3K9me3 deposition. This epigenetic transition recruits the chromosomal passenger complex and triggers Aurora B‐dependent H3S10 phosphorylation, coordinating chromatin remodeling

A new cerebrocortical organoid model using isogenic hiPSCs with familial Alzheimer's mutations recapitulates key AD features, including amyloid‐beta and phospho‐Tau aggregation, neuronal hyperexcitability, and synapse loss. Single‐cell RNA‐seq reveals aberrant pathways in excitatory and inhibitory neurons.

This study reveals that FAP promotes thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) through a nonenzymatic mechanism involving fibroblast‐macrophage crosstalk via the FAP/PLAUR/ITGB1/FAK axis. Targeting this pathway might offer a promising therapeutic strategy for TAD.

RNA cleavage by small catalytic RNAs
Current Opinion in Structural Biology, 1995Recent studies of the hammerhead ribozyme have provided an insight into its three-dimensional structure. In addition, studies using chemical probes, functional-group modification and mutational analysis, in combination with computer modelling, have led to proposals for the structure of both the hairpin and hepatitis delta virus ribozymes.

Synthetic metallonucleases for RNA cleavage
Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 2004Synthetic metallonucleases are versatile metal ion catalysts that use multiple catalytic strategies for the cleavage of RNA. Recent work in the design of more active metallonucleases combines a single metal ion with functional groups that interact with RNA, including amino acid fragments or additional metal ions.
