HIM-10 is required for kinetochore structure and function on Caenorhabditis elegans holocentric chromosomes. [PDF]
Macromolecular structures called kinetochores attach and move chromosomes within the spindle during chromosome segregation. Using electron microscopy, we identified a structure on the holocentric mitotic and meiotic chromosomes of Caenorhabditis elegans ...

PhSLB1 Regulates Branch Development in Petunia
F-box proteins play crucial roles in various developmental stages in plants, such as shoot branching. As an important ornamental and model plant, the branch development of petunia has always been a hot research topic. In our study, the homologous gene of

Combined flow cytometry and high-throughput image analysis for the study of essential genes in Caenorhabditis elegans [PDF]
Background: Advances in automated image-based microscopy platforms coupled with high-throughput liquid workflows have facilitated the design of large-scale screens utilising multicellular model organisms such as Caenorhabditis elegans to identify genetic

This research integrated multi‐omics analysis of bone tissue from HLU and control mice revealed that mechanical unloading suppresses intrinsic apoptosis and augments glutamine (Gln) catabolism in osteoclast lineage cells. The findings highlight pivotal roles for SLC1A5‐mediated Gln metabolism and XIAP/Diablo axis‐mediated apoptosis suppression.

Antiviral therapy in shrimp through plant virus VLP containing VP28 dsRNA against WSSV
The white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), currently affecting cultured shrimp, causes substantial economic losses to the worldwide shrimp industry. An antiviral therapy using double-stranded RNA interference (dsRNAi) by intramuscular injection (IM) has ...

Assessment of RNAi-induced silencing in banana (Musa spp.) [PDF]
In plants, RNA- based gene silencing mediated by small RNAs functions at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level to negatively regulate target genes, repetitive sequences, viral RNAs and/or transposon elements.

E-RNAi: a web application to design optimized RNAi constructs [PDF]
RNA interference (RNAi) has become a powerful genetic approach to systematically dissect gene function on a genome-wide scale. Owing to the penetrance and efficiency of RNAi in invertebrates, model organisms such as Drosophila melanogaster and Caenorhabditis elegans have contributed significantly to the identification of novel components of diverse ...
