Distribution of RNase MRP RNA during Xenopus laevis oogenesis
Molecular Reproduction and Development, 1995AbstractRNase MRP is a ribonucleoprotein endoribonuclease found predominantly in nucleoli, but which has been associated with mitochondria and mitochondrial RNA processing. In order to analyze the intracellular localization of specific RNA components of ribonucleoproteins of this type, a whole‐mount method for in situ hybridization in Xenopus laevis ...

Use of RNA Secondary Structure for Studying the Evolution of RNase P and RNase MRP
Journal of Molecular Evolution, 2000Secondary structure is evaluated for determining evolutionary relationships between catalytic RNA molecules that are so distantly related they are scarcely alignable. The ribonucleoproteins RNase P (P) and RNase MRP (MRP) have been suggested to be evolutionarily related because of similarities in both function and secondary structure.

Secondary structure probing of the human RNase MRP RNA reveals the potential for MRP RNA subsets
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2005RNase MRP is a ribonucleoprotein endoribonuclease involved in eukaryotic pre-rRNA processing. The enzyme possesses an RNA subunit, structurally related to that of RNase P RNA, that is thought to be catalytic. RNase MRP RNA sequences from Saccharomycetaceae species are structurally well defined through detailed phylogenetic and structural analysis.
