Ultrasound assisted interesterification for enhancing productivity of oxidative sensitive docosahexanoic acid ‐enriched medium‐and‐long chain triacylglycerol synthesis

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
Abstract The synthesis of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)‐enriched medium‐ and long‐chain triacylglycerols (MLCT), particularly with DHA at the sn‐2 position and medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) at the sn‐1,3 positions, is a promising strategy to enhance DHA bioavailability.

Ferrocene derivatives with planar chirality and their enantioseparation by liquid‐phase techniques

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 44, Issue 1-2, Page 158-189, January 2023., 2023
Abstract In the last decade, planar chiral ferrocenes have attracted a growing interest in several fields, particularly in asymmetric catalysis, medicinal chemistry, chiroptical spectroscopy and electrochemistry. In this frame, the access to pure or enriched enantiomers of planar chiral ferrocenes has become essential, relying on the availability of ...

N-linked oligosaccharides obtained from glycoproteins of the lichens Sticta tomentosa and Sticta damaecornis

open access: yesEclética Química, 2018
The lichens Sticta tomentosa and Sticta damaecornis were extracted to obtain glycoproteins. The extracts were fractionated with 30-80% saturation (NH4)2SO4. The fractions were reduced, alkylated and after dialysis the material were digested with trypsin.

Characterization of large transgene integrations in Chinese hamster ovary cells using a bioengineered mammalian transposase

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Abstract We present the first use of a bioengineered mammalian transposase system derived from Myotis lucifugus (bMLT) for integration of expression vectors into the CHO genome, focusing on GFP and trastuzumab production. Initially, CHO‐K1 cells are transfected with a GFP reporter and varying amounts of bMLT DNA or mRNA.

Enantioselective CE–MS analysis of ketamine metabolites in urine

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 44, Issue 1-2, Page 125-134, January 2023., 2023
Abstract The chiral drug ketamine has long‐lasting antidepressant effects with a fast onset and is also suitable to treat patients with therapy‐resistant depression. The metabolite hydroxynorketamine (HNK) plays an important role in the antidepressant mechanism of action.

Phytochemical Investigation and Biological Evaluation of Disynaphia filifolia: A Novel Source of Tremetone in Asteraceae

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chemical investigation of Disynaphia filifolia (Hassl.) R.M. King & H. Rob. (Asteraceae) led to the isolation of eight compounds, with tremetone being the major metabolite recovered. Tremetone has been suggested as the toxic compound in Ageratina altissima and Isocoma pluriflora, two species of the Asteraceae family. Although D.

Influence of Drying Methods on the Phenolic Content and Antioxidant Properties of Crocus sativus L. Tepals and Leaves By‐Products From Meknes (Morocco)

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent years, much research has focused on the valorization of Crocus sativus by‐products as sources of bioactive compounds. This study was designed to investigate the impact of two different drying methods, freeze‐drying and air‐drying, on the phenolic content and antioxidant activity of leaves and tepals by‐products from C.

Detection of Fast Decliner of Diabetic Kidney Disease Using Chiral Amino Acid Profiling: A Pilot Study

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
We examined D‐amino acids in diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Among D‐amino acids, blood D‐serine was identified as a biomarker of DKD, and we found that short‐term change in blood D‐serine showed higher value in fast decliners in DKD patients, which meant the prognostic value of blood D‐serine in DKD.

Assessing the growth kinetics and stoichiometry of Escherichia coli at the single‐cell level

open access: yesEngineering in Life Sciences, Volume 23, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Microfluidic cultivation and single‐cell analysis are inherent parts of modern microbial biotechnology and microbiology. However, implementing biochemical engineering principles based on the kinetics and stoichiometry of growth in microscopic spaces remained unattained.
