Genome-Wide Runs of Homozygosity Revealed Selection Signatures in Bos indicus
Genome-wide runs of homozygosity (ROH) are suitable for understanding population history, calculating genomic inbreeding, deciphering genetic architecture of complex traits and diseases as well as identifying genes linked with agro-economic traits ...

This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

Redox‐Dependent Chaperoning of GBF1 Condensates Regulates Seed Germination in Arabidopsis
In dormant seeds (low ROS), GBF1 forms liquid condensates to repress the germination gene CathB3, and the chaperone GIP1 maintains condensate liquidity and repressive activity. Upon imbibition (high ROS), ROS oxidize GIP1 during germination, impairing its chaperone function.

Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

Estimation of inbreeding in Ethiopian goats using runs of homozygosity [PDF]
This study was carried out to estimate the inbreeding levels in Abergelle, Gumuz, Keffa and Woytoguji goats in Ethiopia from genomic information. A total of 161 animals (53 Abergelle, 39 Gumuz, 31 Keffa and 38 Woytoguji) were genotyped using the Illumina

TaMYB7‐A1 directly activates TaABI5 to enhance ABA signaling and regulate ABA‐GA homeostasis, enforcing seed dormancy. Its superior allele, derived from wild einkorn introgression, harbors a MITE insertion that elevates expression and two amino acid substitutions that enhance transcriptional activity, collectively generating graded PHS resistance for ...

A genome-wide homozygosity association study identifies runs of homozygosity associated with rheumatoid arthritis in the human major histocompatibility complex. [PDF]
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disorder with a polygenic mode of inheritance. This study examined the hypothesis that runs of homozygosity (ROHs) play a recessive-acting role in the underlying RA genetic mechanism and identified RA ...

Achieving High‐Density and Stress‐Resilient Maize Breeding Via Germplasm Innovation
Global population growth and climate change have exacerbated the global food crisis. This perspective presents a conceptual framework focusing on enhancing population advantages. Several novel breeding objectives are proposed to improve density tolerance and stress resistance for yield improvement.
