Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing Reveals Disrupted Stromal–Epithelial Crosstalk Impairs Gut Barrier in Depression

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
scRNA‐seq atlas of the depressed mouse colon reveals that expansion of disease‐specific cCF1 and CTF stromal subsets disrupts epithelial homeostasis via enhanced TGF‐ß and suppressed WNT/ß‐catenin signaling, impairing stem cell function, differentiation, and intestinal barrier integrity.

Intermittent Hypoxia Exacerbates Lipopolysaccharide‐Induced Neurobehavioral Abnormalities: The Role of Neuroinflammation and Synaptic‐Related Proteins

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Sepsis is a common systemic inflammatory disease clinically observed in patients with severe trauma or infectious diseases. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) serves as a classic tool for studying infection‐related neuroinflammation and behavioral changes.

Chronic Smoking Impairs Glymphatic Transport and Cognitive Function in Adolescent Mice Through Cardiac, Vascular, and Perivascular Aquaporin‐4 Mechanisms

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
Chronic smoking during adolescence impairs glymphatic transport, leading to cognitive decline and aberrant accumulation of phosphorylated tau in the hippocampal DG region. Smoking‐induced glymphatic dysfunction compromises synaptogenesis and neurogenesis in the hippocampal DG region.

hUC‐MSCs via β‐NGF Alleviate Cognitive Impairment After Tibial Fracture Surgery by Regulating the STMN2/NMNAT2‐SARM1‐NF‐κB Signaling Pathway

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study found that human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells secrete β‐NGF, which binds to the TrkA receptor on neurons, upregulates the protein levels of STMN2 and NMNAT2 in mice with perioperative neurocognitive disorders, and thereby downregulates the protein levels of SARM1 and p‐NF‐κB.

CD147‐Conjugated Minocycline Nanomicelles Alleviate Neuroinflammation and Improve Neurological Function Following Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
Schematic illustration of the design and therapeutic mechanism of MINO@PNM@CD147, which enables CD147‐mediated brain‐targeted delivery, suppresses neuroinflammation, alleviates neuronal injury, and enhances neurological recovery following intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).
