Neuroanatomical basis for the anti-nociceptive role of the relaxin-3/RXFP3 peptidergic system

open access: yes
International audienceAffecting around 10% of world population, chronic pain and its related psychiatric comorbidities (e.g. anxiety and depression) are major health issues.

Performance of a DNA methylation marker panel using liquid-based cervical scrapes to detect cervical cancer and its precancerous stages

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2018
Background A change of cervical cancer screening algorithms to an HPV-based screening setting is discussed in many countries, due to higher sensitivity of HPV testing compared to cytology.

Targeting G protein‐coupled receptors for heart failure treatment

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 181, Issue 14, Page 2270-2286, July 2024.
Heart failure remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Current treatment for patients with heart failure include drugs targeting G protein‐coupled receptors such as β‐adrenoceptor antagonists (β‐blockers) and angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonists (or angiotensin II receptor blockers).

Effect of relaxin‐3 on Kiss‐1, gonadotropin‐releasing hormone, and gonadotropin subunit gene expression

open access: yesReproductive Medicine and Biology, 2019
Purpose Relaxin‐3 is a hypothalamic neuropeptide that belongs to the insulin superfamily. We examined whether relaxin‐3 could affect hypothalamic Kiss‐1, gonadotropin‐releasing hormone (GnRH), and pituitary gonadotropin subunit gene expression.

Aberrant PRDM2 methylation as an early event in serrated lesions destined to evolve into microsatellite‐instable colorectal cancers

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 10, Issue 2, March 2024.
Abstract Up to 30% of colorectal cancers (CRCs) develop from sessile serrated lesions (SSLs). Within the serrated neoplasia pathway, at least two principally distinct oncogenetic routes exist generating microsatellite‐stable and microsatellite‐instable CRCs, respectively.

Glia‐specific expression of neuropeptide receptor Lgr4 regulates development and adult physiology in Drosophila

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience Research, Volume 102, Issue 1, January 2024.
Lgr4 in glial cells plays an essential part in development, adult behavioral patterns, and lifespan. Within the LGR family, the impairment of development is only attributable to the decrease in Lgr4 in glia. And adult‐specific knockdown of Lgr4 in glia will reduce locomotion, male reproductive success, and animal longevity.

Altered relaxin family receptors RXFP1 and RXFP3 in the neocortex of depressed Alzheimer's disease patients

open access: yes, 2016
Rationale: The G-protein-coupled relaxin family receptors RXFP1 and RXFP3 are widely expressed in the cortex and are involved in stress responses and memory and emotional processing.

Relaxin-3 receptor (RXFP3) mediated modulation of central respiratory activity

open access: yes, 2020
The neuropeptide, relaxin‐3, is expressed by pontine nucleus incertus (NI) neurons. Relaxin‐3 and synthetic agonist peptides modulate arousal and cognitive processes via activation of the ...

Relaxin-3/RXFP3 system modulation of anxiety and social behavior in the rat: chronic RXFP3 activation in the hippocampus and amygdala

open access: yes, 2018
© 2017 Dr. Valeria RytovaRelaxin-3 is an evolutionary conserved neuropeptide highly expressed by γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) projection neurons in hindbrain regions including the nucleus incertus, which acts via its cognate Gi/o-protein-coupled receptor ...
