Formate Reduces Ischemic Injury in Female Hearts Lacking Alcohol Dehydrogenase 5
Exogenous formate administration reduces myocardial ischemic injury in intact alcohol dehydrogenase 5 knockout (ADH5−/−) female mice, but not in intact or ovariectomized wild‐type female mice. One‐carbon metabolism may play an intermediate role. This graphic was generated using BioRender.

GLS1‐mediated glutaminolysis supports GSH synthesis in cancer cells. GLS1 KO increases ROS, downregulates GPX4, and upregulates GPX1, making cells more sensitive to ferroptosis. Combining GLS1 or GPX1 inhibitors with a GPX4 inhibitor synergistically suppresses cancer growth.

ABSTRACT Drought stress significantly impacts crop productivity and plant physiology. Nitric oxide (NO) signalling is essential for drought tolerance. This study explores the relationship between in vivo NO levels, mediated by NO scavenging phytoglobin (encoded by Pgb, non‐symbiosis associated hemoglobin), and drought tolerance in oat (Avena sativa ...

The Hidden Architects: Nitric Oxide and Redox Dynamics in Plant Stem Cell Homeostasis
This review highlights the dynamic interplay between nitric oxide (NO) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in regulating plant stem cell renewal and differentiation. NO and ROS integrate intrinsic factors like epigenetic and hormonal signals with extrinsic cues, including environmental stress and nutrient‐TOR signaling, to maintain meristem function and ...

Functional Characterisation of Alternative Oxidase Protein Isoproteins in Arabidopsis thaliana
ABSTRACT The Alternative Oxidase (AOX) is encoded by a small gene family in plants. While being one of the most intensively studied plant mitochondrial proteins, it is primarily only one isoform, AOX1a, that is well studied. We investigated the sub‐and neo‐functionalisation of AOX isoforms in Arabidopsis thaliana by constructing over‐expressing lines ...

Meta‐Analysis of Iron Excess Stress in Rice: Genes and Mechanisms of Tolerance to Acidic Soil
ABSTRACT Iron toxicity, predominantly stemming from excessive levels of ferrous iron (Fe2+) in acidic soils, poses a considerable challenge for crop production. Hypoxic conditions induced by waterlogging can exacerbate Fe2+ availability, which significantly impacts the cultivation and productivity of rice (Oryza sativa), a staple food for millions ...

ChPho23 and ChSds3, two components of the Rpd3 histone deacetylase complex associated with ChHog1, regulate the transcription factor ChCrz1 and modulate the nitrosative stress response and virulence in Cochliobolus heterostrophus. ABSTRACT Southern corn leaf blight (SCLB), caused by Cochliobolus heterostrophus, is a destructive disease in maize‐growing

Production and scavenging of reactive oxygen species in plant cells under cadmium stress
Abstract Cadmium (Cd) causes the excessive accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in plant cells, inhibits plant growth, and reduces crop productivity (e.g., grain yields). However, our understanding of Cd migration, ROS accumulation, and the underlying mechanisms in plant cells remains limited.
