Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Sampled-data control for a class of linear systems with randomly occurring missing data

open access: yes, 2019
© Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2019. In this chapter, design methods of the sampled-data control under missing data for dynamics systems have been developed. Two models of discontinuous sampled-data control signals in the

Sampled-data design for robust control of open two-level quantum systems with operator errors

open access: yes, 2016
This study proposes a sampled-data design method for robust control of open two-level quantum systems with operator errors. The required control performance is characterised using the concept of a sliding mode domain related to fidelity, coherence or ...

Stabilization and Reconstruction of Sampled-Data Boolean Control Networks Under Noisy Sampling Interval

open access: yes, 2022
In this article, we consider stabilization and reconstruction of sampled-data Boolean control networks (BCNs) under noisy sampling interval. A sampled-data BCN under noisy sampling interval is first converted into a probabilistic Boolean network (PBN ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Synchronized Control of Chaotic Neural Networks With Actuator Saturation

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper investigates the chaotic synchronization of neural networks via sampled-data control with actuator saturation. First, a new generalized looped-functional is constructed by considering valid information from $t_{k}$ to t and from t to $t_{k ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Nonlinear Discrete Observer for Flexibility Compensation of Industrial Robots

open access: yes, 2014
This paper demonstrates the solutions of digital observer implementation for industrial applications. A nonlinear high-gain discrete observer is proposed to compensate the tracking error due to the flexibility of robot manipulators. The proposed discrete

Exploiting H infinity sampled-data control theory for high-precision electromechanical servo control design

open access: yes, 2006
Optimal design of digital controllers for industrial electromechanical servo systems using an Hinf-criterion is considered. Present industrial practice is to perform the control design in the continuous time domain and to discretize the controller a ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
