Content of Functional Compounds of Gaharu Leaves (Aquilaria malaccensis) Based on Leaf Position on Branches

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Kehutanan, 2022
This study aimed to analyze several secondary metabolite compounds that are antioxidants in the leaves of gaharu plants based on the position of the leaves on the branches. The experimental design used was a non-factorial randomized block design.

Diagnostic Utility of the ATG9A Ratio in AP‐4–Associated Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adaptor protein complex 4–associated hereditary spastic paraplegia (AP‐4‐HSP), a childhood‐onset neurogenetic disorder and frequent mimic of cerebral palsy, is caused by biallelic variants in the adaptor protein complex 4 (AP‐4) subunit genes (AP4B1 [for SPG47], AP4M1 [for SPG50], AP4E1 [for SPG51], and AP4S1 [for SPG52]).

Microneedle‐Based Biofertilizer Delivery Improves Plant Growth Through Microbiome Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This figure shows how microneedles are used to deliver biofertilizers to enhance plant growth through microbial migration, metabolic reprogramming, and changes in plant endogenous microbiome. Abstract This study presents a microneedle‐based system for the delivery of rhizospheric biofertilizers into plant tissues to enhance growth.

Regulation of anti-tumour effects of Paris polyphylla saponins via ROS: molecular mechanisms and therapeutic potentials

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) exhibit a dual regulatory role in cancer biology. While moderate ROS levels promote tumorigenesis via DNA mutagenesis, excessive ROS accumulation induces cancer cell death through oxidative stress. Therefore, ROS homeostasis

Unraveling the Heterogeneity of Cargo Distribution in the Exogenous Association of Proteins With Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We characterized the distribution of cargo proteins associated with extracellular vesicles using various exogenous loading methods. In all cases, single‐particle analysis revealed that the distribution of protein content per EV is heterogeneous, following an exponential decay function.

Saponin Biosynthesis in Pulses

open access: yesPlants, 2022
Pulses are a group of leguminous crops that are harvested solely for their dry seeds. As the demand for plant-based proteins grows, pulses are becoming important food crops worldwide. In addition to being a rich source of nutrients, pulses also contain saponins that are traditionally considered anti-nutrients, and impart bitterness and astringency ...

A Sacrificial 3D Printed Vessel‐on‐Chip Demonstrates a Versatile Approach to Model Granulation Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A novel method that combines 3D printing and organ‐on‐chip technology enables the creation of hollow channels lined with endothelial cells through a fibroblast‐populated connective tissue matrix. The model supports stable metabolic culture conditions, angiogenic sprouting, and immune cell migration, thereby demonstrating an easy and versatile method to
